| 11/23/2009 | In a real "nail biter" Torrington 8B defeated Scottsbluff 8B 17 - 16. Torrington gave up four final shots at the basket by Scottsbluff in the final twelve seconds, but none of Scottsbluff's shots found the mark, and the Blazers escaped the Scottsbluff High School gym with the win. Several players contributed points to the win: Miriam Lehmitz led the 8B Blazers with 5 points; Josie Jackson had four points, as did Callie Schlagel. Elizabeth Chavarria and Cassandra Bustillos each had two points to round out the scoring. Both teams fought hard to try to get the win, and Torrington ended up eaking out a victory. |  | | 11/23/2009 | Torrington 8A defeats Scottsbluff 8A 43 - 29, according to our best records. In this game, which actually got close toward the end of the third quarter, Torrington poured in 13 points in the fourth quarter, while holding Scottsbluff to 5 points. This allowed Torrington to put the game away. Avery Madden led the Lady Blazers in scoring in this one, pouring in 20 points. Alli Marsh had 19 points, while Kylie Korell hit two free throws, and Raele Riley had one bucket to round out the scoring. |  | | 11/19/2009 | Torrington 8B loses to Gering, 30 - 11. In a game in which Gering led 10 - 0 after the first quarter, and then coasted to the win, Torrington 8B was defeated. Among the bright spots in the defeat: Cassandra Bustillos had 6 points. Callie Schlagel scored two points, Miriam Lehmitz had two points, and Crstal Munoz one point. Torrington 8A dropped this game 44 - 41. Alli Marsh had 31 points in the loss. Avery Madden added six points, and Kylie Korell had four points. Turning in a great defensive effort, Torrington 8B defeated Alliance 23 - 6. Callie Schlagel score 10 points for Torrington B, and Cassandra Bustillos had 6. Also scoring were Miriam Lehmitz, Xiyun Hessler, and Whitney Walson with two each; Josie Jackson had one point. |  | | 11/16/2009 | Torrington 8A defeats Alliance, 38-12. In an 8th grade game that wasn't as close as the score indicated, Torrington defeated Alliance on Monday night. Torrington was led in scoring by Alli Marsh, who had 17 points in the official book. Avery Madden scored 7, with Kylie Korell chipping in 6 points. Other scorers were Miriam Lehmitz with 4 points, Callie Schlagel with 2 points and Kaitlyn Stoeger with 2 points. Torrington was only 1/6 from the free throw line, but 18/30 from the field. Kylie Korell had five steals; Allie Marsh had 3. Overall, there were more steals than rebounds by Torrington during this game. Coach Engelker stated that he was pleased with the defense, and was looking forward to playing Gering on Thursday night in Gering. |  | | 11/10/2009 | At Douglas, the Torrington 8A Blazers dropped a close game to the Douglas Bear Kitties, losing at the very end, 31 - 29, after coming back from a 14 - 4 half time deficit. Alli Marsh scored 19 points in the loss, scoring all her points after half time. Avery Madden had six points, with Kylie Korell chipping in four, and Kaitlyn Stoeger and Miriam Lehmitz two each. Kaitlyn Stoeger had five rebounds, with Avery Madden and Alli Marsh adding three each. Alli Marsh also had five steals, while Kylie Korell had two. |  | | 11/10/2009 | Torrington 8B loses to Douglas. Helped by 8 points from Kim Grahama, 4 from Cassandra Bustillos and 2 from Josie Jackson, the Torrington 8B put up a valiant fight in losing 36 - 12 to the Douglas B. Coach Burrill reminded the players that every trip down the floor was a new opportunity to do something good, and the team fought hard defensively until the end. |  | | 11/8/2009 | Torrington 8th Grade A drops heartbreaker in four overtimes: In the longest game that either Mr. Haiman or Mr. Burrill can remember (and that's a lot of games) Torrington 8A lost to Wheatland 8A 56 - 45. Allison Marsh had 34 points, including scoring 17/30 free throws. Avery Madden had seven points and Whitney Walson and Raele Riley scored two each. Miriam Lehmitz added one point. Alli Marsh had 9 rebounds and 10 steals. Raele Riley had 11 rebounds. Avery Madden was limited in her participation in the game due to continual foul problems. |  | | 11/8/2009 | Torrington 8B drops close game to Glenrock, 24 - 17. In a game in which Glenrock used their "A" players, TMS 8B was very competitive, Callie Schlagel scored eleven points and Miriam Lehmitz added six. TMS was only 5/17 from the free throw line.
